Each piece William creates starts with the carving of a master model, using materials like wax or wood. This is followed by molding using his vulcanizer, which heats and compresses pure silicone around the master to create an exact copy of it. After the mold cools, tiny ducts are carefully added to allow molten pewter to flow in and air to escape. This precise step is crucial for a smooth, clean casting. After testing and refining the mold, William uses a centrifugal spin caster to pour the molten pewter into the mold. Once the pieces cool, any rough areas are carefully cleaned by hand. The final step involves polishing each piece, inspecting it, and sending it off to its new owner.
